Yash has officially joined Ramayana and has begun shooting in Mumbai alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The KGF star, who plays the mighty Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus, is all set to bring his powerhouse screen presence to the epic tale. Ramayana is currently being shot in India. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi in lead roles, Ramayana is one of the most awaited films. Ranbir and Sai have already filmed portions of their roles in Mumbai, and now Yash, who is also one of the film’s producers, has kicked off shooting for his portrayal of Ravana in the city.
According to the latest reports, Yash has arrived in Mumbai and has officially started shooting for Ramayana – Part 1. A source revealed to a leading portal that after two days of costume trials, the KGF star began filming his scenes on February 21.
The current shooting schedule is centered around intense war sequences, with some key battle scenes being filmed at Mumbai’s Aksa Beach. After wrapping up this portion, the team will shift to a studio in Dahisar for the next phase of filming.
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is set to be a two-part epic. The first installment is scheduled for a grand Diwali 2026 release, while the second part will hit theaters on Diwali 2027. Ramayana also features Lara Dutta, Sunny Deol, Indira Krishna and others in pivotal roles.
