Some people collect rare Pokemon cards. Others hunt for vintage toys. But one lucky bidder just walked away with something far more unusual—a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto that looks like a Charizard. A single Cheeto, oddly shaped like the fiery Pokémon, fetched nearly $88,000 (around 77 lakhs) at an auction. Dubbed ‘Cheetozard,’ this spicy, dragon-shaped snack became the centre of a bidding frenzy before it finally found its forever home. Goldin, the online marketplace that handled the sale, listed it as part of its February 2025 Pop Culture Elite Auction. It all started with a $250 bid on February 10, but as the days passed, the numbers shot up.

Sixty bids later, the price had skyrocketed to $72,000 by Sunday, March 2. And once Goldin’s buyer’s premium was added, the final cost soared to a jaw-dropping $87,840.

Measuring a mere three inches in length, this one-of-a-kind snack even came with its very own custom Pokemon card—because of course, it did. A snack like this deserves a backstory and Cheetozard certainly has one. Between 2018 and 2022, it was discovered and carefully preserved by 1st & Goal Collectibles, a shop in Holly Springs, Georgia, known for curating rare and quirky finds. Its online fame exploded last year, turning it into an unlikely piece of pop culture history.

Naturally, the internet had a lot to say. Goldin shared the news of Cheetozard’s big sale on social media in a joint post with eBay and the comment section was nothing short of hilarious.

“If I was on death row, I’d want this to be my final meal,” one person joked. Another questioned humanity itself: “What is wrong with people?” And then there was the comparison that had to be made—“Same guy who bought the banana with tape,” someone wrote, referencing the infamous duct-taped banana artwork that once sold for millions.

Even Cheetos’ official account couldn’t resist reacting, dropping a single, wide-eyed emoji.

For those kicking themselves for missing out on this Pokemon-inspired snack, don’t lose hope just yet. Cheetozards may be off the market, but the world of bizarre snack auctions is alive and well. From chips shaped like Arnold Schwarzenegger to Cheetos eerily resembling the Loch Ness Monster, eBay remains a treasure trove of oddly shaped, cheese-coated collectables.

So next time you rip open a bag of chips, take a closer look—because who knows? You might just be holding the next snack worth six figures.
