Uorfi Javed says Dhanashree Verma reached out to her amid a difficult time in her life.
Uorfi Javed said that Dhanashree Verma recently reached out to her, thanking her for support during the unnecessary backlash on social media following her divorce proceedings with Yuzvendra Chahal. Uorfi also mentioned that Dhanashree was ‘going through a difficult time’ in her life.
Dhanashree has faced massive trolling on social media amid divorce proceedings with Yuzvendra. During a recent podcast with Humans of Bombay, Uorfi shared how women are always blamed in controversies involving male athletes. The social media sensation added that she stood by Dhanashree and even wrote a long post in her support after the incessant social media trolling. Soon after, Dhanashree personally reached out to her and expressed her gratitude.
“I had posted a story in support of her, because I thought she was being treated very unfairly. She reached out to me and thanked me for the support as she was going through a very difficult time,” Uorfi said.
In her original post, Uorfi wrote a long note, referring to Natasa Stankovik and Hardik Pandya’s divorce. She also mentioned how Anushka Sharma would be blamed in the past for Virat Kohli’s performance in his matches. Without naming Dhanashree or Yuzvendra, Uorfi’s Instagram story read: “Everytime a cricketer is breaking up or getting divorced, the woman is bashed left right and centre just because in our head our cricketer is our hero. None of us have any idea what happened between the two or even during Natasha and Hardik’s case but of course it’s the woman who is at fault.”
She further added, “Oh and don’t forget the time when Anushka was blamed for Virat’s bad performances. Remember? So it’s always the woman who is to be blamed for the man’s action? These are grown men with fully functioning brains who know what they are doing.”
Uorfi Javed also commented on how cricketers’ wives are always blamed for marrying for money if their relationship goes downhill. “In our minds, the cricketers are the heroes and they never do anything wrong. Is the cricketer not a sensible person? Couldn’t he tell if the girl had married him for the money?,” she said.
Meanwhile, neither Dhanashree Verma nor Yuzvendra Chahal have directly addressed the matter. A recent report by ABP News claimed that during a court hearing, they revealed that they had been living separately for 18 months. When asked about the reason behind seeking divorce, the couple admitted to having ‘compatibility issues’. Meanwhile, multiple reports suggested that Dhanashree was demanding Rs 60 crore in alimony from the cricketer. However, Dhanashree’s family recently dismissed these claims through an official statement.
