Texas Rapper G$ Lil Ronnie And Daughter Fatally Shot, Suspect Arrested

Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his five-year-old daughter were killed after armed individuals opened fire in a car wash.

In a major development, the Forest Hill Police have arrested in connection to the murder of a North Texas rapper, Ronnie “Lil Ronnie” Smith, also known as G$ Lil Ronnie, and his five-year-old daughter. As confirmed by the authorities, one of the two suspects, identified as 24-year-old Adonis Robinson of Fort Worth, was arrested on Thursday afternoon in Livingston, Texas, about 75 miles east of Houston. Robinson, along with 21-year-old Jakobe Russell, was accused of being involved in the fatal shooting that claimed double lives on Monday, March 2.
The police are looking for Rusell, who remains at large, states a Fox4news report. Earlier on Wednesday, the police department announced that capital murder warrants were issued for both the accused. As per USA Today, Robinson is a convicted sex offender who was previously released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in August. His past convictions include sexual assault of a 55-year-old woman in 2021 and then failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements in the following year.
On the other hand, Jakobe Russell also holds previous convictions, including an assault this year, an assault of a pregnant woman in 2023, and a weapon charge in 2022. “They’re scared. They’re cowards. They’re hiding. We ask the public, please, do you know where they’re at? Let us know,” said police chief David Hernandez during a press conference.
Texas Rapper Death: What Happened?
According to media reports, the hip-hop artist and his daughter were killed on Monday morning in a “targeted shooting” that took place in a Dallas car wash. The armed suspects are believed to have fired a round of bullets at the child and her father as they sat in the parked car. A video of the attack has also surfaced online, showing G$ Lil Ronnie trying to distract the fire away from the car and running before getting hit and falling to the ground.
The Forest Hill police responded to the distress call just before 11 am, when they reached the spot to find two victims. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the father and daughter were pronounced dead at the scene.
The exact reason behind the attack is yet to be confirmed.
