A domestic dispute in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, took an unexpected turn when a husband’s secretive attempt to monitor his wife’s phone calls led to a dramatic confrontation – one he is unlikely to forget. According to reports, a factory worker from the Bithur area, living in a rented house with his wife, became suspicious that she was communicating with someone behind his back.
Determined to uncover the truth, he sought advice from a friend and learned about a call recording application. Acting on impulse, he secretly took his wife’s mobile phone, installed the app, and then placed the phone aside, assuming he would later have evidence of her conversations.
After finishing his shift at the factory, the husband hurried home, his mind fixated on listening to the day’s recorded calls. He discreetly took his wife’s phone to the terrace and began going through the recordings. However, his secretive actions did not go unnoticed. His wife, realising her phone was missing, searched the house before finally spotting him on the terrace, deeply engrossed in her private conversations.
What followed was an explosive altercation. Furious at her husband’s betrayal of trust, the wife confronted him. The argument quickly escalated, and in a fit of rage, she picked up a ‘belan‘ (rolling pin) and physically assaulted him. Not stopping there, she threw him out of the house and forbade him from returning.
Terrified and humiliated, the husband ran straight to the Bithur police station to seek help. Upon investigation, Police Station In-Charge Prem Narayan Vishwakarma revealed that the wife is employed at a medical college, while her husband works for a spice company. The root of the husband’s suspicion lay in her frequent conversations with her superiors at work.
To clarify the situation, police summoned all involved parties, including the person whom the husband suspected. The man, who arrived at the station with his son, dismissed the husband’s accusations, stating, that he had a grown-up son so he had not reason to be involved with someone else’s wife.
Realising his mistake, the husband apologised to his wife. Following police intervention, the couple reconciled, and the officer promptly deleted the call recording application from the wife’s phone, bringing an end to the episode.
