The teaser, Raw Statement, of Srikanth Odela and Nani’s ambitious upcoming film The Paradise was released a few days ago. From premise to visuals, the glimpse was nothing short of an entertainment extravaganza, earning a positive response from viewers. Amid the buzz, the director-actor duo of the film opened up to talk about their hope that the movie will emerge as “India’s Mad Max.” In an interaction, they also promised audiences an extraordinary cinematic experience.
During a chat with Variety, Nani expressed his expectations from the film and said, “This is India’s Mad Max and I believe this with utmost sincerity. The tone and nature of The Paradise will be wild, and that wildness will be accompanied by poetic justice.”
Srikanth Odela, who joined Nani for the conversation, added, “This time, we are not blurring or masking societal taboos. As a filmmaker, I am committed to presenting the film in its rawest form. The Paradise will stand as one of the most authentic, original and unapologetically honest Indian films, carrying immense potential and relevance to resonate with a global audience.”
Set in the 1980s Secunderabad, The Paradise chronicles the struggle of a fictional oppressed tribe, denied their most fundamental rights by the ones in power. To rescue them comes the most unlikely leader, played by Nani. The film beautifully depicts how he steers his tribe towards the mainstream. In the teaser, he is simply described as “a bastard”.
Backed by Sudhakar Cherukuri’s SLV Cinemas, The Paradise will be released on March 26, 2026. Co-starring Sonali Kulkarni, the film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by GK Vishnu and editing by Navin Nooli. Apart from the much-anticipated film, Srikanth Odela is also working on Chiranjeevi’s next, which will be presented by Nani.
Before The Paradise, Srikanth Odela made his directorial debut with Dasara (2023). In the film, Nani played the lead role. The film grossed Rs 118.5 crore worldwide and became a massive commercial success upon its release. Apart from The Paradise, Nani will be seen in Hit: The Third Case, scheduled to release in May this year.
