As Kartik Aaryan took on the role of host for the 25th edition of the IIFA Awards, he received some valuable tips from none other than Shah Rukh Khan, a veteran in hosting the grand event. Ahead of the big night, Kartik shared a stylish reel on Instagram, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at his preparations.
In the video, SRK can be heard guiding Kartik with an opening statement suited for the Jaipur event, saying, “Kartik is going to host this 25th year. Just so that I can pass on the mantle to him, I will teach him how to make an opening statement in Jaipur—‘Padharo Maare IIFA’, ‘Khamma Ghani’.” Kartik enthusiastically repeated after him, embracing the cultural vibe of the location. The reel also captured Kartik getting ready, sporting a lush beard, and at one point, amusingly commenting on his hair length, “Zaada hi lambe ho gaye bhai.”
The IIFA 2025 event was filled with entertainment and unexpected moments, one of which included Kartik facing off against world-renowned boxer Anthony Pettis. During the show, Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan were invited to participate in a boxing challenge with Pettis. However, KJo hilariously backed out, saying, “It’s out of my control! I can dance with Madhuri Dixit on ‘Dola Re Dola’ but can’t box with Anthony!”
Following an audience vote, Kartik was chosen for the challenge. As he put on his gloves, Anthony threw a quick, light punch at him, prompting Kartik to laugh and say, “You only have to act, not real boxing!” However, when they stepped back into the ring, Kartik cleverly seized the moment and landed a playful punch on Anthony’s face, much to the delight of the crowd.
The fun didn’t stop there, as Kartik and Karan Johar engaged in a friendly roast session while rehearsing for their hosting duties. Kartik shared a hilarious clip on Instagram where the two playfully argued over who truly holds the title of Bollywood royalty.
Karan confidently declared, “Royalty means something, Kartik. I am the emperor of Bollywood, not you.” Kartik fired back with a witty response, “If you are the emperor, then I am the prince of Indian cinema.”
KJo continued the banter, taking another dig, “Oh my god! Tum aur royalty? Asli royalty main hoon.” However, Kartik got the last laugh by poking fun at KJo’s drastic weight loss, joking, “Aap itne patle kaise ho gaye? Aesa lag raha hai kisi ne Karan bhej diya hai aur Johar baaki hai!”
