Mumbai Indians have signed South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch as a replacement for Lizaad Williams, who has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to an injury. Bosch, 30, is highly-rated in South Africa after bursting through the scene with impressive international debuts in ODIs and Tests against Pakistan last year.
He was part of Mumbai Indians’ sister franchise, the MI Cape Town in this season’s SA20. In a title-winning campaign, he picked up 11 wickets in eight matches at an average of 17.36. He can hold his own with the bat, as he showed with his unbeaten 81 against Pakistan in the Boxing Day Test.
“Corbin was a part of the victorious Proteas’ U-19 team that lifted the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2014, notably winning the Player of the Match in the final for a magnificent spell of 4/15,” Mumbai Indians said in a statement on X. “He has been a regular across formats for his domestic team and made his debut for Proteas in 2024. A right-handed middle-order batter and right-arm fast bowler, Corbin has played 86 T20s, having taken 59 wickets and has recorded a highest score of 81 with the bat. Mumbai Indians wish Lizaad a speedy recovery and extend a warm welcome to Corbin into the #OneFamily.”
