Man Fakes Romance With Nanny To Make Ex-Wife Jealous, Gets Stabbed

In China, a man’s plan to reconcile with his former partner took a tragic turn. To make his ex-wife jealous, he pretended to fall in love with the nanny. His plan worked but the deception ultimately led to his death.
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Xie, a businessman, had married his college sweetheart, He. The couple had a daughter but as Xie’s business grew, they frequently argued over trivial matters. They both eventually decided to part ways and got divorced.
As per the report, Xie gained custody of their daughter after the separation and hired a nanny, Li, to take care of the household. Despite the divorce, Xie still wanted to reunite with his ex-wife. So, he devised a plan to make her jealous.
He began pursuing Li and she started believing that he loved her. Li, who came from a rural background, saw this as an opportunity for a better future. She fell for Xie and their relationship turned romantic.
In order to get his ex-wife’s attention, Xie showed affection for Li on social media and made sure neighbours talked about their relationship. His ex-wife began visiting more often to check on their daughter and Xie used these moments to display his closeness with Li.
Xie then proposed to Li and set up a wedding photoshoot. He even made his daughter to send the location through her smartwatch to lure him to the scene. The plan worked and they both got back together. Xie then cut ties with Li, both personally and professionally. He tried to compensate her with money but Li felt betrayed and humiliated.
The betrayal from Xie led Li to take her revenge so she conspired a plan with her cousin who had a criminal record. One evening when Xie returned home, her cousin attacked him with a stick. While Xie was on the ground, Li stabbed him which led to his death.
During the investigation, Li stated that she never intended to kill Xie but only wanted to “teach him a lesson.” She had truly believed in their future together and had already informed her family and friends about their wedding.

The case also gained attention on social media where one user commented, “If he wanted to reconcile, why not just talk to her directly? Why go through all these unnecessary tricks?”
Another added, “Such a heartless man. Was the nanny’s life just a game to him?”
