Social media has become a medium for showcasing talent, and these performances frequently captivate the hearts of audiences throughout the world. Recently, a London pianist has been going viral for his renditions of popular Indian songs. He is known to take requests from his audience and often jams with singers. In his latest post, he shared how he came across the Sri Lankan singer Yohani and his experience of recreating her song Manike Mage Hithe.

In the clip shared by pianist Thibault Maurin, Yohani is seen approaching him and introducing herself. She stated, “I am from Sri Lanka, do you have any songs from Sri Lanka that you can play?” The pianist replied, “Not really.” Yohani went ahead to share her one song, Manike Mage Hithe with him. Thibault took some time to get the melody right and once he was ready to perform, Yohani joined in playing the guitar herself. While the pianist played the tune, the singer sang flawlessly. In the caption, Thibault Maurin, “I met @yohanimusic in London!…I was playing the piano when she asked me to play a famous Sri Lankan song… but no one expected what would happen. That was amazing.”

Thibault’s effortless performance and Yohani soulful voice came together perfectly, creating a truly magical performance that went viral. While many praised the performance, some commented on the post, letting the pianist know that Yohani was the actual singer. “She is the original singer of the first song,” wrote one. Others were simply mesmerised by the rendition. “Manike Mage Hite hits differently,” stated an user.

Earlier, the pianist shared a video on social media in which he plays Aparshakti Khurana’s Kudiye Ni on the piano. In the video, the actor strikes up a conversation with him to see whether he is aware of the musician who sang the track. Aparshakti soon asked the musician to perform his most recent single, Zaroor. The actor began singing as soon as he started playing, surprising both the musician and others around him. The video also showed individuals dancing to the track beside the actor. At the end of the video, Aparshakti introduced himself to the musician as the singer of both the songs he had been playing.
