Fans can finally rejoice as we have an update on megastar Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited film Vishwambhara. Originally planned for a Sankranthi 2025 release, a new report suggests that the film has been moved to the actor’s birthday, which is on August 22. An official confirmation is yet to be made, while anticipation remains high for the film. It is worth mentioning that Vishwambhara has been delayed for a while now, with the production now preparing to wrap it up at the earliest.
After postponing the film’s release in January to give way to Ram Charan’s Game Changer, the makers had another setback due to incomplete graphic works, leading to more delays. Previously, Vishwambhara’s teaser sparked criticism online due to the VFX, prompting the production to rework the visual effects. For better results, they even outsourced the work to the team behind the Hollywood blockbuster Avatar.
With the production work in the final stages now, it is believed that Vishwambhara might make it to the theatres on Chiranjeevi’s 70th birthday on August 22, 2025, as per 123Telugu. On the other hand, reports also suggest that the actor has been working on a tight schedule to complete the schedule for his next film, even allocating 90 working days for the project.
Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the comedy entertainer, tentatively titled Mega 157, the film is expected to focus entirely on humour, bringing Chiranjeevi in a never-seen avatar with unique body language and accent. The film is expected to go on the floors in May 2025, with an expected release during Sankranti 2026.
More About Vishwambhara
Directed by Mallidi Vassishta, Vishwambhara is expected to bring the socio-fantasy narrative to life. Besides Chiranjeevi in the lead role, the film also features Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor, Ashika Ranganath, Ramya Pasupuleti, and others.
While the makers released the first look of the film on Chiranjeevi’s 69th birthday last year, the first teaser came out on October 12, 2024. “When darkness and evil take over the world, a magnanimous star shall shine bright to fight. Happy birthday, MEGASTAR @KChiruTweets Let the world witness your aura with #Vishwambhara Get ready for a MEGA MASS BEYOND UNIVERSE,” the makers wrote at the time.
Vishwambhara’s music is being composed by Oscar-winner MM Keeravani.
